There’s a three-hour roundtrip you can do by car out of Reykjavik, called the Golden Circle. It takes you past several beautiful natural wonders: Thingvellir, a rift valley where Iceland’s parliament was established in 930; the Gulfloss waterfall; and Strokkur, a geothermal geyser.

Hi Shleepy Schaf, that is the geyser, Strokkur. It’s actually spouting water, it does it every ten minutes or so! It’s really cool! There’s a live webcam, if you want to see it in action: http://www.livefromiceland.is/webcams/geysir/
